A World Inside
Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, 2024
During my first two months working at Shakespeare's Globe as a Marketing Officer, I discovered that despite the month being April and the weather being brilliant, we were already thinking about winter - sometimes you forget that in the marketing world, we live in the future. So yes, the winter destination campaign was well underway and the team were looking for models - otherwise known as keen and excitable staff members - to be in the concept shoot. Having never modelled before in my life, and being keen and excitable myself, it felt like the right time to do it.
I was so grateful to be part of this shoot for a theatre I have always admired and was also great to expand my skillset - specifically learning how to sit still for hours at a time. You never know when you’re going to need that.
Jokes aside though, it really was an incredible experience and I am delighted to be sharing it with all of you.
Shakespeare’s Globe is home to not one, but two magical theatres; the iconic open-air Globe as well as the intimate (and indoor) Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. This this winter, discover a world inside, as we bring three illuminating plays to London’s only indoor candlelit theatre: All’s Well That Ends Well, Cymbeline and Three Sisters, plus More… Ghost Stories by Candlelight with HighTide.
Transcending time, crossing kingdoms and uniting artists to create theatrical magic, this season Anton Chekhov shares the stage with Shakespeare as we explore the transformative impact they both continue to have on how we think and feel about the world.
Our biannual Shakespeare and Race Festival returns this October, asking ‘Who owns Shakespeare?’
Poet Laureate Simon Armitage’s enchanting Hansel and Gretel returns to the Globe stage with a new recipe of music, mayhem and festive magic for everyone aged 5+. And a host of family activities continue with our Telling Tales and Writing Tales events across October half term and the festive season.
